Memoirs of the Moment: with Michael Pedersen and Seán Hewitt

Poets Seán Hewitt and Michael Pedersen come together in this event to talk about their recently released, and stunningly poetic, new memoirs. The texts are powerful creations by the authors, each delving deep into the poets’ experiences. In ‘Boy Friends’, Pedersen pays tribute to friendship, and a beloved and departed friend in particular, while in Hewitt’s ‘All Down Darkness Wide’ the poet tells his tale of romantic love, heartbreak and coming of age, queer identity, and trauma. Both books are remarkably unique insights into the lives of the poets: one an insight into grief and male friendship, and the other a deeply revelatory exploration of facing a loved one’s depression.
