Calum Rodger

Calum Rodger is a Glasgow-based poet working in print, performance and digital media. He was the Scottish National Slam Champion in 2019 and holds a PhD in Scottish Literature from the University of Glasgow. His publications include 'Occasional Poems' 2012-2019 (Speculative Books, 2020) and 'PORTS', classic twentieth-century poems reimagined as videogame instructions (SPAM Press, 2019). He performs extensively throughout Scotland and beyond, with shows at the National Museum of Scotland, the Edinburgh International Science Festival and TEDxGlasgow, among others, and has delivered workshops on various aspects of poetry and creative writing at universities, prisons, schools, community groups and many more.

Over the last few years Rodger has become obsessed with combining poetry with videogames and technology. Alongside 'PORTS', he produced 'Rock, Star, North' and a number of poetic computer games playable in any web browser, including 'sha-lot' (for StAnza 2021), 'Rabbie Burns Saves the World! (And, by Extension, Book Week Scotland)' (Book Week Scotland 2020) and 'Gotta Eat the Plums! with William Carlos Williams'.
