It’s hard being a poet. Whether you’re writing your first funding bid, looking to rent some office space, or trying to find a support network, it can be difficult to know where to start. Or, once you’ve started, what’s your next step? To help you on your way, we’ve invited guest speakers from Creative Scotland (Alan Bett), Creative Edinburgh (Ola Wojtkiewicz), and the City of Edinburgh Council (Joan Parr) to come and talk about how their organisations can best support you in your poetic journey. Each will give a short, informal presentation on their work, followed by a portion of time set aside for audience questions. This event is tailored towards poets at any stage of their career, whether you’ve been firmly established as a professional poet for many years, or have yet to publish your first piece.
