Walking with Poetry

A Poetry Mile is a project by Push the Boat Out where, in 2021, we brought together a wonderful selection of poets who wrote specially commissioned poems about, in, or inspired by Edinburgh spaces on a wide range of topics.

One of those commissioned poets, Helen Boden, is ready to reanimate A Poetry Mile for 2022 and lead this series of walks around Edinburgh’s Southside and Meadows areas. Along the way, you will discover some of the poems written for the original project and enjoy the bright and breezy promise of an autumnal Edinburgh day.

Ticket holders will meet 5 to 10 minutes before the start of their walk in Summerhall’s main foyer. The walk will also end in Summerhall.

There are several opportunities to join this walk across the weekend.
